We are NOW ACCEPTING NEW STUDENTS! (contact us)

ViVoce (vih-voh-chay) Music is the private voice and piano studio of local professional musicians Rebecca Kellerman Petretta and Heather Ann Watkins.  We are pleased to offer private voice and piano instruction for students of all ages and abilities in both Jefferson and Berkeley Counties.

Rebecca and Heather are both graduates of Shenandoah University’s Conservatory of Music. Individually, they are both active professional performers in the DC metro area , but they also enjoy performing together.  Through their musical collaborations, they have realized that their approach to teaching private voice and piano is very similar. They bring their experiences and expertise as active performers into the studio to benefit their students.

Our Philosophy
We truly believe that one size does not fit all, and we tailor our teaching to each individual student’s musical needs and abilities. We appreciate that students have different goals when choosing to pursue private music lessons. Therefore, understanding what their goals are helps us to decide how we will approach teaching each student.

We do not have one single method that we use for each student, but we do believe that all students should learn a basic set of fundamentals which will enhance their musical abilities.  Students may have similar goals, but how we work together to achieve the individual outcome may be different for each student.
